How to wear Living Coral in 2019
Every year since 2000, Pantone Color Institute has been naming a “Color of the year.” For the year 2019, the organization has chosen Living Coral as the color of 2019. Experts at Pantone viewed that the color not only represents the essential and beautiful ecosystem but also states that Living Coral “is a nurturing color that appears in our natural surroundings and at the same time displays a lively presence within social media.” Easily put, the Living Coral would be just as beautiful in person as it would be on your phone or laptop screens where we spend hours and hours on.

What do you guys think? Living Coral is very alive, vibrant, and sensational. It is such a beautiful color that has just the right amount of orange and pink hue. Pantone’s Color of the Year affects all across the design industries (interior, fashion, weddings, and etc.), but how do we apply Living Coral into fashion?

Coral in the Makeup Industry
Coral had its sartorial heyday during the late 1940s and early 1950s, when Vogue’s March 1950 issue featured several orange-coral pieces by Schiaparelli, Balenciaga, and Dior. The color also had a brief revival in the ‘60s and ‘80s, but it slowly faded out from the fashion industry, until now. With the wide use of color-blocking techniques in recent years, Coral color has made its comeback. Being named the color of the Year of 2019, Coral is here to stay.

And how about those fabulous ruffled gowns which literally screams Living Coral? Altuzarra showcased gorgeous shells-embellished deep coral dresses. The brand also used Living Coral into its floral prints and turn the fabric into an awe-inspiring shirt dress. Prada used cream coral top and bottom for its spring collection. Prada presented muted coral color is just as beautiful and wearable for every day. Sacai took full advantage of Living Coral by smartly color-blocking it into its pleated top and its knitwear.
